I paint as a solitary, contemplative practice, a rebellion against our modern world's relentless pace. Luscious oils seduce with rich colors and pungent scents—materials largely unchanged for centuries, making the past ever-present. These elements of earth, brushed on wood, both honor tradition and transform it.
Once devoutly figurative, my work has evolved beyond the human form. In this absence emerge the veiled shapes of memories and desires. I seek to give form to the unseen—the past, the natural world, and our interconnections. A liminal space opens where I become the figure dipping into the collective unconscious, layering veils of color, revealing contrary marks, uniting strangers with friends, and illuminating dark corners.
